India’s growth journey depends on building a well-functioning market economy. The state's regulatory role is central to this. Regulation, when done right, enables competition, allows integration with global markets, and fosters high-productivity firms by correcting market failures.
Over the past two decades, considerable expertise in regulation and how to do it right has developed in India. This conference is part of building a definitive volume on Regulation in India, which brings together the community of people who have shaped and observed the evolution of regulatory practice in India, including former and current regulators, civil servants, academics, and practitioners.
The conference will explore how India can strengthen its regulatory institutions by improving their design, capacity, governance and accountability to pursue a more efficient and competitive economy. The program is organised into 10 thematic panels over two days.
The discussions are expected to benefit both regulated entities and institutions engaged in regulatory governance.
This event is by invitation only. Please write to regulation.book@gmail.com if you'd like us to extend an invitation to you.
