This dataset contains district-level satellite measures of the Indian economy: annual building volume (2016–2023) from Google's Open Buildings 2.5D Temporal, and monthly VIIRS nighttime lights (2014–present) cleaned with the PSTT2021 pipeline via NighttimeLights.jl. Together they offer a granular and timely read on India's physical capital stock and economic activity at the district level. The dataset is designed to support research, policy analysis, and journalism on Indian economic geography, urbanisation, and regional disparities.
